Rohit Sharma is always seen doing funny things on and off the field the Indian captain is often spotted having funny banters with teammates during a match but Shikhar Dhawan picked Virat Kohli as the funniest character in the Indian Cricket team. Dhawan, who has announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket, played many matches with former India skipper Kohli. They have played 110 limited-overs matches together, including 87 ODIs and 23 T20Is.

Kohli last featured in the ODI series against Sri Lanka where India lost the series 2-0.

“Virat Kohli is the funniest in the Indian team. I share a great bond & relationship with him we played together from childhood days” said Dhawan in an exclusive conversation with Hindustan times.

Dhawan played 34 Tests, 167 ODIs and 68 T20Is for India. He last featured for international cricket in 2022 against Bangladesh in December. The opening batter is out of the international cricket because of his rough patch and the emergence of younger opening talents like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill.

Dhawan’s last outing was in IPL 2024 where he featured for five matches because of fitness issues. He played 222 IPL matches in his career and scored 6769 runs including two hundreds and 51 half centuries. His 768 fours in the tournament are the highest by any batter and he also is the first to hit consecutive hundreds in the event.

Kohli has also announced his retirement from T20Is but he will feature in ODIs and Tests for India. Kohli is currently spending time with his family in London. He will most likely to feature in the two Test match series against Bangladesh which is scheduled to start from September 19.
