Pavitra Punia and Eijaz Khan have been together since their stint in the reality show Bigg Boss 14, wherein they found love in each other’s arms. After dating each other for a couple of years and getting engaged, Pavitra and Eijaz parted ways in 2023. Recently, Pavitra Punia revealed the reason behind their breakup, and people are assuming that Eijaz Khan asked her to convert her religion.

In an interview, Pavitra Punia talked about the reason behind their breakup. After which, reports were rife that she claimed that it was ‘religion’, which became reason for their separation. Now, Eijaz Khan shared his side of the story through his spokesperson. Pavitra Punia’s comment in her latest interview has affected Eijaz Khan’s family as religion was never an issue in their relationship.

The spokesperson revealed that Eijaz’s father has been getting calls from his friends asking if his son had asked his girlfriend to convert to Islam, and he is extremely hurt. In the official statement, Eijaz’s spokesperson also revealed that religion was never a criteria in their relationship. And now, it is being dragged that it is over. The spokesperson said:

“His father has been getting calls from his friends asking if your son asked his girlfriend to convert to Islam. He is very hurt because he was the happiest when he learned about Eijaz and Pavitra’s relationship. Religion was never the criteria in their relationship, but somehow it is being dragged now that it is over.”

 The spokesperson further revealed that Pavitra Punia’s comments have been misrepresented to show Eijaz Khan in a negative light, even though, the actress had denied the religious conversion statement. The spokesperson revealed:

“In the interview, when Pavitra was asked if religion was one of the major reasons for their breakup and she categorically said, ‘No, absolutely not. Religion was never any problem,’ and that she had herself said in the beginning of their relationship that she will not convert. Now, only the part about conversion is being used, and the rest has been omitted.”

When Pavitra Punia addressed the rumours about religion being an issue in their relationship

In an interview with Telly Masala, Pavitra Punia talked about the rumours that claimed there were religious differences due to which they parted ways. Pavitra stated that it wasn’t the case. In fact, at the start of their relationship, Pavitra told Eijaz that she would not convert. Pavitra said:

“In fact, my extended family was happy. Unko toh aisa lag raha tha ke inki toh industry aisi hai yahan jaat paat dekhte nahi hai. I did tell him that l am not going to convert myself.”

In the same interview, Pavitra added that a person who converts their religion, which they are born in for a person, then that person would never stay committed and would leave one day.
