RK Puram has slowly emerged as a new gastronomical hub in the city, and on its list of restaurants, cafes and bars is a gem called ‘Nueva‘ that was opened by the captain of our cricket team, Virat Kohli, in 2017.
We know that cricket is a slightly sour subject of conversation right now, with us not making it to the finals, so we won’t go there; but there is no reason for the food and drinks to stop! And, if you’re a true Kohli fan, then you have to visit to his uber chic restaurant in Sangam Courtyard to taste some lip-smacking dishes and artisan cocktails from across the globe!

That’s what we’re starting with because the decor/aesthetics is the first thing you notice about a place.
If you thought that the connection with Virat Kohli would automatically imply a ‘cricket theme,’ you’re definitely mistaken.
Nueva has a very chic and elegant ambience, with a spiral staircase and modern bar and lounge being just a few stand-out elements. It is spread across two floors– the first floor is a fine dining area while the ground floor is where the party happens.
On the whole, the place exudes a very regal vibe.
2. Authentic Global Cuisine

Nueva has quite an impressive and diverse menu with dishes fetched from different corners of the world, including Japan, Italy and parts of South America. Expect to savour the most authentic sushi and ceviche, pasta and paellas, and lots more, coming from the kitchen of Chef Michael Swamy. Each dish is a burst of flavours in your mouth and boasts of a mix of exciting ingredients.
3. Artisan Cocktails

One of the biggest attractions of Nueva is its curated menu of lip-smacking cocktails (and mocktails) that are just perfect to accompany all that delicious food. Kick-start your party with a fruity Sangria or ask the bartender to make you a customised cocktail that suits your palate.
For those who prefer something non alcoholic, Baya Beso is an amazing drink to go for. It’s made with fresh pink grapefruit juice, a hint of raspberry and sparking water!

We’re not kidding. The Indian cricket team captain has visited the restaurant with his wife, Anushka Sharma, and team members a couple of times since it opened.
