The 40-year-old actress and global icon, who welcomed her daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas with husband Nick Jonas, has faced intense scrutiny and criticism for her choice.

Have you heard? Priyanka Chopra chose surrogacy due to medical reasons

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’s decision to use a surrogate has been met with various reactions, some of which have been harsh and judgmental.

Critics have accused the couple of “outsourcing” their pregnancy, with some even labeling it as “renting a womb” or acquiring a “ready-made baby.”

This criticism, however, has not deterred Chopra from speaking out. She confides to British Vogue, “I’ve developed a tough hide when people talk about me, but it’s so painful when they talk about my daughter.

I’m like, keep her out of it.” Chopra emphasizes her protective nature towards her daughter, revealing how she was deeply involved in Malti’s early days.

The emotional toll of these public criticisms is evident in Chopra’s words.

She recounts the harrowing experience of her daughter’s early arrival, describing Malti’s birth as occurring a full trimester before her due date. “I was in the operating room when she came out.

She was so small, smaller than my hand. Nick and I were both standing there as they intubated her.

I don’t know how they even found what they needed to intubate her,” Chopra shares. The couple spent the following three months in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), a period marked by uncertainty and intense emotional strain.

Chopra recalls, “We spent every single day with her on my chest, on my husband’s chest. I didn’t know if she would make it or not.”

In addressing the reasons behind their choice of surrogacy, Chopra explains that medical complications played a significant role.

She responds to critics with a firm stance, saying, “I had medical complications, and to those busy pushing false narratives, you don’t know me.

You don’t know what I’ve been through, and just because I don’t want to make my medical history or my daughter’s public doesn’t give you the right to make up whatever the reasons were.”

This statement underscores Chopra’s desire for privacy regarding her medical and personal life, advocating for understanding and respect rather than judgment.

Priyanka Chopra’s openness about her surrogacy journey is not just a response to criticism but also an attempt to shed light on the emotional and physical realities of her experience.

By sharing her story, she aims to foster a more empathetic and informed conversation around surrogacy and the challenges faced by many who choose this path.

Her journey highlights the importance of compassion and understanding, both for public figures and individuals navigating their own personal battles.

As Priyanka Chopra continues to protect her family’s privacy and advocate for respect, her story serves as a reminder of the complexities behind the choices people make and the strength required to overcome personal challenges.
