His funeral will be conducted in Mumbai on September 9

Television actor Vikas Sethi, renowned for his roles in iconic daily soaps like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kasautii Zindagii Kay, died on September 8.

A lesser-known fact about the late actor is that he also played the small yet memorable role of Robbie in Karan Johar’s 2001 blockbuster family drama Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.

Vikas played the role of Robbie, the date of Kareena Kapoor’s iconic character Poo, in the film.

His character is first seen leaning against a fancy bike with a group of friends at Poo’s college.

He casually calls out to her, saying, “Hey Poo, movie tonight?” To which she sassily replies, “Tell me how it was!” When Poo’s friends question why she gives Robbie, a college heartthrob, so much attitude, she confidently says, “He’s nice, but he’s not my type.”

Robbie then becomes Poo’s date for a dance night.

However, not many would know that Vikas’ role was earlier offered to John Abraham.

This was revealed when John appeared on the first season of the filmmaker’s chat show, Koffee with Karan, in 2004.

John had turned down the offer, and it was eventually played by Vikas Sethi.

As per the official statement from the family, his funeral will be conducted in Mumbai today, September 9, after post-mortem at Cooper Hospital.
