The internet quickly picked up on the moment, with users applauding his down-to-earth attitude. One fan gushed, “He’s so humble yet bold! That wasn’t a request, it was a statement—‘You CAN’T do this.’”

Another praised, “He handled it so gracefully without losing his cool. This is why Arijit will be a legend!”

However, not everyone was impressed. Some questioned his sincerity, with a few trolls pointing out, “Why are you wearing shoes in your temple though? (laugh emojis)” while others accused him of playing it up for the cameras.

A skeptic commented, “He’s good, but this felt like unnecessary drama.”

Despite the critics, many fans came to his defense. One supporter explained, “By ‘temple,’ he means the stage is sacred for him as a performer, not a place for eating!” Another added, “The stage is his kala mandir (temple of art), not a dining hall.”
