While conversing with a contestant named Kriti, Big B spoke about his parents’ inter-caste marriage and said he considers himself ‘half-Sardar’ due to his Sikh roots.
Since his mother Teji Bachchan comes from a Sikh family, his maternal aunts affectionately called him “Amitabh Singh.”
I believe I am half-Sardar,” said the Kalki 2898 AD star adding, “When I was born, my masis from Punjab would say, ‘Kinna sona putar hai, ki naam rakhiya
. Haaye sadda Amitabh Singh (What a beautiful son we have, what shall we name him? Ah, our Amitabh Singh).’ They never left it.”
During the conversation, Kriti also asked Big B whether he gives wife Jaya Bachchan jewellery as a gift, to which, the megastar replied,
“You’ve asked me quite a personal question, but yes, I do gift her. Hope anyone from Income Tax isn’t watching this.”

The film also featured Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani in prominent roles with cameos of Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, SS Rajamouli and Ram Gopal Varma.
It is directed by Nag Ashwin of Mahanati fame.
Big B will be next seen in Rajinikanth starrer Vettaiyan, which also features Fahadh Faasil in a prominent role.
It is set to hit the screens on 10th October.
