Triptii Dimri on emotional struggles following criticism for ‘Animal’: Side effect of being in a mainstream film
riptii Dimri has recently opened up about the emotional turmoil she experienced following the backlash from her bold scenes with Ranbir Kapoor in the film ‘Animal’.
In an interview with Ranveer Allahbadia, Triptii revealed the extent of her emotional struggle.
She admitted to crying for three days after reading some of the harsh comments on social media. “Roti thi because dimaag khraab hogaya tha ke kya likh rahe hain log (I would cry because I got mad thinking what people were writing),” she shared, reflecting on how unprepared she was for such negativity.
The actress expressed that while she welcomed the love and appreciation from audiences, the criticism was a new and challenging experience for her.
Dimri’s rise to fame has been swift since her debut in ‘Poster Boys’ and later in films like ‘Laila Majnu’, ‘Bulbbul’ and ‘Qala’.
However, it was her role in ‘Animal’ that got her into the limelight.
Despite this newfound fame, she noted that the scrutiny she faced post-‘Animal’ was unprecedented. “There was no criticism before ‘Animal’, but I suppose that’s the side effect of being in a mainstream film,” she explained.
The actress credited her sister for helping her navigate through this difficult period.
Dimri recounted how her sister encouraged her to take ownership of her journey and not to dwell on negativity.
“Sometimes, crying is the body’s way of telling you to release your trauma,” she added, emphasizing the importance of processing emotions rather than suppressing them.
Despite facing criticism, Triptii remains optimistic about her career trajectory. Following ‘Animal’, she starred in ‘Bad Newzz’, which did not perform well at the box office.
However, she is set to appear alongside Rajkummar Rao in ‘Vicky Aur Vidya Ka Woh Waala Video’, which is scheduled for release on October 11 and will compete with Alia Bhatt’s ‘Jigra’.
Additionally, she has a role in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’, featuring Vidya Balan and Kartik Aaryan, set to hit theaters on November 1.
