Richa Sharma Had Once Revealed That Sanjay Dutt Was ‘Shattered’ When Madhuri Dixit Had Ditched Him

Richa Sharma had once reacted to how Sanjay Dutt was devasted when Madhuri Dixit had dumped him.

She had said, “He was a shattered man.”

Sanjay Dutt has been in headlines for his alleged love affairs much before the movie, Sanju was released. However, it was in the movie that it was revealed that the actor had 308 girlfriends.

However, amid all these relationships that Dutt had in the past, his affair with Madhuri Dixit had become the talk of the town in the early ’90s. It was after the release of their blockbuster, Saajan, that the Dhak Dhak girl, Madhuri Dixit was paired with the Khalnayak of Bollywood, Sanjay Dutt, to be featured on the cover of various magazines.

From Star and Style, Filmfare, Stardust, to CineBlitz, the duo was the subject of most of the cover stories. Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit had worked together in films like Khatron Ke Khiladi, Thaanedaar, Saajan, Khalnayak, Ilaaka, Sahibaan and many more.

No wonder, the duo had mesmerised the audiences with their chemistry. However, it was their off-screen camaraderie that had increased the hopes for their fans.

But things did not work in their favour and the duo had parted ways.

Sanjay Dutt was married to his first wife, Richa Sharma when rumours of his affair with Madhuri were rife. In an interaction with the Stardust, Richa Sharma, who was battling cancer then, had shared that how Sanjay Dutt had always needed someone to lean on emotionally.

She had also added that as Madhuri Dixit had dumped him, he would be a shattered man. She had said, “At every point in his life, he needs someone to lean on emotionally. Like he was dependent on Madhuri. Now that she has ditched him, he is going to be a shattered man.”

Reports say that it was his arrest under TADA and Arms Act after Mumbai serial blasts in 1993, which had brought a halt in his love affair with Madhuri Dixit.

In fact, Stardust had done a story entitled, ‘Madhuri Dumps Sanjay’. The article had reported that Madhuri had cut off all her ties with Sanju Baba and had asked her sister to tell him that he should not call her anymore.

It was in 1997, when the duo was last seen on the screen in the film, Mahaanta. However, they made a comeback on the screen in 2019, with the multi-starrer film, Kalank.

However, in an interview with Movie Magazine, Sanjay Dutt had opened up about how Madhuri Dixit’s denial of their relationship had no effect on him.

He had said, “I didn’t get affected by her statement. I have been her colleague and I have done a lot of films with her. See, I need to establish a proper rapport with all my co-stars, it may be Madhuri or Sridevi.”

For the longest time, both Sanjay and Madhuri had not only avoided each other in public but had also maintained their silence to questions related to each other.

In the same interview with Movie Magazine, Sanju Baba had further explained that he also had to build a rapport with Sridevi during the shoot of Gumraah as she used to be aloof.

He had added, “For instance, during the first few days of Gumraah, I wasn’t comfortable, because you know how Sridevi is. She is aloof and I had to get talking to her. So what Madhuri said didn’t bother me that much, in fact, it didn’t bother me at all.”

For the unversed, Madhuri Dixit had broken millions of hearts by adding the surname ‘Nene’ to her name by tying the knot with Dr Shriram Madhav Nene.

The duo is blessed with two sons, Arin and Ryan. On the other hand, Sanjay Dutt is now happily married to Maanayata Dutt.

The couple had tied the knot in the year 2007, in a private wedding in Goa. Sanjay and Maanayata are blessed with a daughter, Iqra and a son, Shahraan.

Various sources in the industry had revealed that Sanjay Dutt was madly in love with Madhuri Dixit. However, they were not destined to be together. After his linkups to so many women, Sanju Baba found his love in Maanayata Dutt.
