In Yasser Usman’s book ‘Sanjay Dutt: The Crazy Untold Story of Bollywood’s Bad Boy,’ a director who had collaborated with Dutt mentioned, “He was always following Madhuri around and whispering ‘I love you.’” Additionally, in an interview, Madhuri had once remarked that Sanjay was the “only guy who makes me laugh all the time,” fuelling the rumours back then.

However, Madhuri consistently denied being in a relationship with Sanjay Dutt. When the actor was questioned about it in an interview with Movie Magazine, he seemed unaffected by her statement. He explained, “I have worked with Madhuri, and we have done several films together. It’s important for me to establish a good rapport with all my co-stars, whether it’s Madhuri or Sridevi. For instance, during the initial days of filming ‘Gumraah,’ I needed to connect with Sridevi, who tends to be reserved. So, what Madhuri said didn’t bother me, in fact, it didn’t bother me at all.”
