India will play two Test matches against Bangladesh which is scheduled to start from September 19 and the first match will be played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

India star batter Virat Kohli who missed the last red-ball series against England has made his comeback in the squad against Bangladesh. Apart from Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah has also made his comeback in the squad after India’s T20 World Cup 2024 triumph in Barbados.

Kohli who is currently spending time with his family in London last played a Test match was against South Africa in at Capetown in January. He featured in 113 Test matches for India where he scored 8848 runs with a highest score of 254 not out.

9000 Test runs

 

Virat Kohli just needs 152 runs from reaching 9,000 runs in the longest format of the game. Considering his current form the batting great will achieve this milestone in the upcoming India vs Bangladesh Test series. If Kohli reaches this mark, he will also surpass former England cricketer Graham Gooch’s total of 8,900 Test runs.
