The 50-year-old, who has always been the queen of the Cannes Film Festival, this time received hate on her outfits.

The mom of one wore a black and gold Falguni and Shane Peacock gown with puffy white sleeves and a long cape for the star-studded night.

Golden foil details were embellished all over the bodice too and her injured hand became the focal point of the evening.

While a certain section found the look too flamboyant, the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil actress thought otherwise.

In a new interview with Vogue, Aishwarya Rai opened up about her day 1 look, “The look last evening at the red carpet was designed by my dearest friends Shane and Falguni Peacock. They call it gilded glow but to me it was just magical.”

 

 

While she continued to take fans through her infallible makeup process in a viral clip, netizens penned some suggestions.
