Addressing the challenges of balancing work and family life, Kareena shared that when one of them is shooting, the other is always at home with the kids.
Additionally, the couple has made a pact not to work from June to August every year, ensuring quality family time.
‘If I want to do a film, we try that Saif is at home.
When Saif is shooting for a film, then I try to be at home because we want one of us to always be with the kids.
We take out time where, for two and a half months, we don’t work together, which is June to August. That’s a pact.
That’s the longest period that Taimur gets his holidays.
We want to spend time together, travel, or be at home.
The idea is that we just have to be together.
Neither of us wants to work at that time,’ she shared.
She credited Saif for keeping her grounded.
‘I think I’m very lucky because I have to give a lot of credit to Saif.
My marriage to him grounded me a lot, gave me comfort, and exposed me to a lot of other things outside movies,’ Kareena shared.
She highlighted the broader perspective Saif introduced into her life.
‘Whether it’s friendships from school, college, family, cousins, travel, watching sunsets, or going to the hills.
When he was shooting a film in Dharamshala, I was pregnant and spent three weeks there with him.
I had a great time just exploring, not being in front of the camera, walking around, going to the market, just enjoying my time not being an actor.
He exposed ‘e to that, which I started enjoying
. Once you start that, you find that balance.”
Kareena also talked about the importance of engaging with people outside the film industry.
‘It’s difficult, but you make a conscious effort to engage with people outside the film fraternity. We’ve maintained a lot of friendships from when we were younger and before the movies.
That somehow gives you a break and exposes you to the real world outside of movies.’
