Actor Mukesh Khanna recently found himself in the midst of controversy following comments he made about Sonakshi Sinha’s appearance on the popular game show “Kaun Banega Crorepati.”

During the episode, Sonakshi was unable to correctly answer a question related to Hanuman, a revered figure in Hindu mythology. This led Mukesh Khanna to question Sonakshi’s upbringing, sparking reactions from both Sonakshi and her father, veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha.

Now, Sonakshi’s brother, Luv Sinha, has also addressed the issue. During a Bombay Times event, Luv was posing for photographers when a journalist asked him about Mukesh Khanna’s comments on Sonakshi. Luv responded curtly, saying, “The statement that needed to be made has already been given.

There’s nothing more to add. Thank you.” When the reporter pressed further, questioning Sonakshi’s public response to the controversy, Luv replied, “What more can I say? She has already given her answer.”

To provide some context, Sonakshi’s marriage to actor Zaheer Iqbal had previously stirred media attention, as reports suggested Luv did not attend the wedding. Speculation arose that Luv disapproved of the marriage, though he has not publicly commented on the matter.

Returning to the Mukesh Khanna controversy, Sonakshi had taken to social media to express her views. She admitted to forgetting the answer to the question on that particular day but reminded Khanna of the values taught by Lord Ram, emphasizing forgiveness.

In her post, Sonakshi stated, “Yes, I forgot who brought Sanjeevani Booti that day, but you seem to have forgotten Lord Ram’s teachings – that we should forgive. If Lord Ram could forgive Manthara, Kaikeyi, and even Ravan, you can let this go too. I don’t need your forgiveness, but you can choose to move forward.”

Sonakshi further addressed the remarks Mukesh Khanna made about her upbringing, adding, “You questioned my upbringing, but it is that very upbringing that allows me to respond to you with respect.”

Her father, Shatrughan Sinha, also weighed in on the matter, questioning Mukesh Khanna’s authority on religious issues. Shatrughan remarked, “Who made him the guardian of Hinduism?” This sharp response highlighted his disapproval of the unsolicited commentary on his daughter’s values.

The controversy has reignited discussions on public figures being scrutinized for their personal beliefs and knowledge of religion. Many fans and industry colleagues have expressed support for Sonakshi, appreciating her dignified and thoughtful response.

The incident has also raised broader conversations about the expectations placed on celebrities, especially women, to have extensive knowledge of cultural and religious traditions. While Sonakshi’s response reflected humility and grace, the situation has left fans divided over whether such criticism was warranted in the first place.

Ultimately, the controversy seems to underscore the importance of fostering compassion and understanding in public discourse. As Sonakshi eloquently pointed out, the values of forgiveness and respect remain essential, not only in religious teachings but in everyday interactions.
