Shah Rukh Khan was initially considered for 'Don 3', here's why it didn't work out

In 2023, director-actor Farhan Akhtar announced ‘Don 3‘. However, many were left disappointed after it was revealed that Ranveer Singh had replaced Shah Rukh Khan as Don. Now, in an interview with Faye D’Souza, Farhan revealed that while writing ‘Don 3‘, he did consider SRK, but unfortunately, things didn’t work out.

He said, “We couldn’t find common ground on it – so that didn’t happen/ So I was like, let me just kind of rethink what I want to do with the film and kind of go back. Kind of go a little bit more into like a ‘what made Don, Don kind of story, and that’s when I started writing that. Then, that took on a life of its own, and that obviously needed for there to be a younger actor.”

The role was then offered to Ranveer Singh who happily came onboard. The actor will be seen romancing Kiara Advani in the upcoming film.

SRK first played the role of Don in the 2006 film ‘Don‘ and was later seen in ‘Don 2‘ (2011). He starred opposite global icon Priyanka Chopra in the same.

On the other hand, SRK is currently busy with Sujoy Ghosh’s ‘King‘. At the Locarno Film Festival a few days ago, Shah Rukh Khan revealed that he is losing weight to prep for the upcoming film. The actor will be seen doing crazy action stunts in the movie. ‘King‘ also stars SRK’s daughter, Suhana Khan, who made her Bollywood debut with 2023 Netflix’s film ‘The Archies‘. Well, details about SRK and Suhana’s roles have not been revealed yet.
