Aishwarya Rai Respected Designer, Saisha Shinde’s Transition, Introduced Her To Aaradhya Correctly

In a recent interview, fashion designer, Saisha Shinde recalled how Aishwarya Rai reacted to the former’s transition to a transwoman.

Saisha Shinde is a popular fashion designer in Tinseltown and needs no introduction. For the unversed, Saisha was formerly known as Swapnil Shinde before his transformation. At the age of 40, Swapnil had undergone surgery to become a transwoman and inspired everyone to follow their hearts, no matter what! Now, in an interview, she talked about how Aishwarya Rai treated her after her transformation.

Saisha Shinde on not announcing her transition initially

In a conversation on Tisca Chopra’s YouTube channel, Saisha Shinde recalled the time when she had not announced her transition to the world. Speaking along the same lines, she shared that during one of her fittings with Aishwarya Rai, she made sure to inform the latter’s manager that she was Saisha now, as she didn’t want to shock anyone. Saisha said:

“It had not come out in the papers. It was only my close knit friends in the industry who knew about it and I had fittings with Aishwarya. So I made sure I told her manager that get ready, it’s not Swapnil who is going to come, it is Saisha who is going to come. Make sure that ma’am is okay, everyone’s okay, because I don’t want to shock anyone.”

Saisha recalled the wonderful experience she had with Aishwarya Rai and revealed how the actress made sure to use the correct pronouns and the correct name for the designer. Moreover, when Aaradhya joined her mother during the session, Aishwarya introduced Saisha in the most appropriate way. Elaborating more on it, Saisha said:

“When I went for the fittings, again Aishwarya being Aishwarya, she made sure she called me Saisha at every point and she was calling me the right pronoun every time. Her daughter came in and she introduced me to her daughter as Saisha.”

Saisha Shinde further shed light on embracing her real self and announcing her transformation to everyone. The designer revealed that though she was afraid to do the same, she knew that the brilliant women she had worked with were always going to accept her. She said:

“I mean the women in this industry are amazing on another level. So I was afraid, but I wasn’t that afraid because I knew these people, I had worked with them. Some of them are friends with me so I knew that they are going to be fine, they are going to be accepting.”

Meanwhile, Aishwarya Rai has been leading the headlines for her alleged feud with the Bachchan family. The diva has reportedly been living away from her husband, Abhishek Bachchan, and has not talked to her saasu ma, Jaya Bachchan, for years now. Aishwarya and her daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan, have moved out of Jalsa and are not on cordial terms with the other members of the Bachchan family.
